CORDOVA town closed the voting for Saturday’s special elections in Barangay Gabi at 5 pm and transmitted the results to the municipal board of canvassers not long after.
Incumbent Cebu Gov. Hilario Davide III of the Liberal Party (LP) won the gubernatorial seat with 10,698 votes over One Cebu’s Winston Garcia who got 8,812 votes.
Cordova’s new mayor-elect Teche Sitoy-Cho and vice-mayor Adelino Sitoy, both of the LP, have been proclaimed last Tuesday.
With 9,273 votes LP’s councilor bet Angel Gairanod clinched the 8th spot of the local elective seat beating independent candidate John Tan by only eight votes. Tan received 9,263 votes.
Cordova is the last town to transmit election results due to failure of elections last May 9.
