CATMON’s Isabel Molde partners with Diana Mae Carlos as they represent the University of the Philippines Lady Maroons (UP) in the 2nd annual Rider Beach Volleyball tournament this weekend at the Green Lagoon Park in Compostela town, north Cebu.

The competition is part of the country’s biggest summer music festival dubbed the 2016 Ipanema Summer Sunscream this May 21.

The 17-year-old Molde is a former member of the multi-titled Catmon Integrated School.

“I can’t wait to be back in Cebu and play volleyball,” said Molde, who was named University Athletics Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Season 78 Rookie of the Year in the indoor volleyball tournament.

Also joining is UAAP beach volleyball first runner-up Far Eastern University Lady Tamaraws (FEU).

“We are sending our team to Cebu because we believe Cebu is an ideal venue to hone the skills of our players,” said FEU head coach Cesael Delos Santos.

Local teams competing are University of San Jose-Recoletos, Southwestern University, University of Cebu, University of San Carlos and University of Southern Philippines Foundation.

There will also be two commercial teams, one is the reigning champion team of former national team player Jusabelle Brillo and Apple Saraum.
