The defending champions Golden State Warriors kept the pedal to the metal and crushed the Cleveland Cavaliers, 104-89, in Game 1 of the NBA Finals on Friday (Philippine time) in Oakland, California.

The Western Conference champs Warriors showed it could win without really banking on reigning MVP Steph Curry as seven players scored in double figures led by the 20 of Shaun Livingston as Golden State took a 1-0 lead in this best-of-seven series.

Draymond Green added 16, Harrison Barnes chipped in 13, Andre Igoudala scored 12, Curry and Leandro Barbosa managed 11 and Andrew Bogut had 10 for the Warriors, who pulled away in the second half for the easy win.

The Big Three of the Eastern champs Cavs led the team with Kyrie Irving topscoring with 26 points. LeBron James added 23 and Kevin Love put in 17. Aside from them, only Tristan Thompson was the other double-digit scorer for the Cavs.
