Members of the Gullas-led Alayon party in the first district of Cebu province took their oath yesterday morning before reelected district Rep. Gerald Anthony “Samsam” Gullas.
The oath-taking took place at the Enan Chiong Activity Center in Naga City, southern Cebu.
Samsam, in a phone interview, told CEBU DAILY NEWS that he challenged the Alayon party mayors to work hard since this is the first time that they have a 9-0 (7 mayors, 1 congressman, 2 Provincial Board members) win in the district.
The Gullas-led Nacionalista Party-Alayon (NP-Alayon) swept all the positions for mayor there.
They are reelected Carcar City Mayor Nicepuro Apura, former congressman Eddie Gullas for Talisay City, reelected Minglanilla Mayor Elanito Peña, reelected Sibonga Mayor Lionel Bacaltos, incoming San Fernando Mayor Lakambini Reluya, and incoming Naga City Mayor Kristine Chiong.
Their winning candidates for the PB are Yolly Daan and Raul Bacaltos.
Samsam was also reelected for a second term.
He took his oath before outgoing Naga City Mayor Valdemar Chiong.
