A MAN who visited his girlfriend in Barangay Panan, Sibonga town, southern Cebu got wounded after he was shot by a fellow toughie on Wednesday afternoon. Rondy Butistas suffered a gunshot wound to his left arm.

PO2 Paulino Sanchez of Sibonga Police Station said Butistas was inside the house of his girlfriend when the suspect, John Paul Fernandez Matugas, along with an unidentified cohort arrived on motorcycle.

Sanchez said Matugas entered the house and shot Butistas, hitting his left arm. Butistas pulled out his .45 pistol and returned fire, prompting Matugas and his cohort to pull back.

The two engaged in a running gun battle until Matugas had thrown his KG9 sub-machine gun away. Responding policemen recovered from the crime scene the weapons used by Matugas and Butistas. Policemen are eyeing personal grudge as motive of the shooting.
