EXPECT skateboarders to swarm the streets of Cebu City on June 21 as they join the worldwide celebration of the Go Skateboarding Day 2016.

Backed by skateboarding brands DC Shoes and Grind, the one-day major skateboarding celebration will serve as the largest gathering of skateboarders here in the country.

Around 8,000 skateboarders are expected to roll from the Fuente Osmeña Circle to SM City Cebu, where the first-ever Philippine Skateboarding League will be held. A series of other activities are also lined up for the whole day.

“We want to prove to everyone that the skateboarding community here in Cebu is united,” said Joseph Falcone, one of the organizers of the event during the launching yesterday at the Koa Tree House.

Falcone is also the organizer of the renowned Visayas Longboarding Trilogy (VLT) and one of the founders of the Philippine Extreme Sports Scoring System (PXSSS), which sanctions and ranks athletes competing in various extreme sports competitions.

Joining Falcone in yesterday’s launching was Primer Group of Companies’ Princess Artajo, who represented DC Shoes and Grind.
