“HELP provide a better vision to indigent Filipinos nationwide.”

This is the message that Robinsons Malls imparted to Cebuanos during the Cebu leg of Robinsons Malls’ The Gift of Sight.

With the support of the Department of Social Welfare and Development and optometrists, The Gift of Sight project was able to provide free eyeglasses to indigent residents of six barangays in Cebu City and Mandaue. Aside from the free eyeglasses, the residents from Barangays Sta. Cruz, Capitol, Tejero, Carreta and Mabolo in Cebu City; Barangay Paknaan in Mandaue City; and beneficiaries of the Sacred Heart Parish Ladies Association were also given a lecture on hygienic practices to prevent eye diseases.

“The satisfaction of providing an opportunity for better eyesight to our Filipino brothers and sisters continue to inspire the men and women behind The Gift of Sight project,” said Roseann Villegas, director for Corporate Public Relations, Robinsons Land.

The Gift of Sight was launched last year. To date, over 2,000 pairs of eyeglasses have been given to beneficiaries in key cities and urban areas in Metro Manila, and in several provinces in Luzon and Visayas.
