Alvaro “Barok” Alvaro, the number one drug personality in Cebu province, is now detained at the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center (CPDRC) in Brgy. Kalunasan, Cebu City.

Considered a “high-risk prisoner,” Alvaro was placed in an isolated cell with a closed-circuit television (CCTV) that operates 24/7.

“I assure him of his safety,” said Marco Toral, the consultant on jail matters of the Cebu provincial government.

For one month, no one is allowed to visit Alvaro except his lawyer, Jonah John Ungab.

Alvaro was committed to the CPDRC upon the orders of Judge Mercidita Dadole-Ygnacio of the Regional Trial Court Branch 28 in Mandaue City.

Dadole signed the commitment order of Alvaro in behalf of Judge Jerry Dicdican of Danao City trial court which issued the arrest warrant against the suspect for illegal possession of firearms and drugs.
