Carcuevas score victories in Uling Road Race

COMING off an impressive performance in Stage 1, Jonel Carcueva scored another victory in the 51-kilometer Road Race of the Uling Road Race Classic yesterday.

The race started in Barangay Tuyan in Minglanilla town, southern Cebu and had its U-turn in Ilihan, Toledo City before ending in Barangay Uling, City of Naga.

It was another breakaway for Carcueva, who was unchallenged in bagging the 39-and-below category crown.

Amon Espinosa and Emmanuel Pedroza finished second and third, respectively.

Dadong Carcueva, on the other hand, bagged the Men’s 40-and-above title, beating Stage 1 leader Boy Pagnanawon, who settled for third place. Rey Erasmo came in second.

The 16-year-old Lazer-Feedback Sports rider and Batang Pinoy national champion Ana Patricia Maximo was the top female rider after finishing the two stages of 70 kms.

In the overall general classification, Jonel topped the Men’s 39-and-below category, while Dadong dominated the Men’s 40-and-above event.
