Lapu inmate caught with packs of shabu, repacking materials
A 48-year old inmate of Lapu-Lapu city Jail was arrested for possession of packs of suspected shabu, drug paraphernalia and repacking materials during a Greyhound Operation Thursday evening.
Harney Cinco, a resident of Barangay Basak, Lapu-Lapu city, is serving time for selling and possession of illegal drugs in 2008. Now he will be facing more charges of possession of illegal drugs and paraphernalia.
JO3 Louie Quiachon, received an information from a fellow inmate about the packs of shabu in Cinco’s possession.
The packs were hidden at Trigger building where Cinco works under a company based in Mactan Export Processing Zone (MEPZ) with an extension work area inside the jail facility intended for the inmates.
The Jail guards then conducted a Greyhound Operation at 7:00 in the evening on Thursday and found two (2) medium packs and twenty (20) small sachet of suspected shabu with a street value of P11,000.
They also confiscated three (3) pieces of empty plastic sachet with traces of shabu, 107 pieves of cut empty plastic sachets, three (3) pieces disposable lighter, an improvised burner, improvised glass pipe, a scissor and a mobile phone.
According to Cinco, his visitor gave it to him but as to how it passed through the strict inspection of visitors is still being investigated.
