PH Motorcycle Time Attack at Cafe Racer on Sunday

THE SECOND leg of the Philippine Motorcycle Time Attack will be held this Sunday at the Cafe Racer at the North Reclamation Area in Mandaue City.

Around 70 to 80 motorcycle riders will test their maneuvering skills in the tight and technical racecourse that will be put up at the parking area of the Cafe Racer.

Bryan Mallari, the founder of the Philippine Motor Time Attack, said in a press conference yesterday that their main goal for having this yearlong series is to promote safety in motorcycle riding by showcasing driving skills in a race.

Race Time Custodian Jose Montalban, who was also in the press conference, said they want to change the way how motorcycle riders think.

“Most motorcycle riders spend most of their money on accessories for their bikes rather than invest in safety gears. We are here to showcase the importance of safety riding,” said Montalban.

Also in the press conference were KTM Cebu CEO William Patrick Ong and race director Neil Labrador.

Mallari said that they will have six legs this year including an international race here in Cebu in November.

With KTM Motorcycles by their side, Mallari said that they are optimistic of the event’s success.

“We will provide them their needed support. For now we don’t plan to sponsor a rider but we continue to support local events like this. Maybe we will have our own race in the near future,” said Ong.

KTM will showcase its stunt rider Ralph Teves, who will give a brief performance before the race kicks off.
