UC jins to test skills in Nat’l Taekwondo Kyurogi C’ships
TAEKWONDO jins from the University of Cebu (UC) will look to put up a strong showing in the 40th National Taekwondo Kyurogi Championships, which starts today at the Cuneta Astrodome in Pasay City.
The Junior Webmasters will be fielding two teams in the nationwide tournament — one in the junior boys division and one in the junior girls competition.
The two-day tournament will follow a five-on-five team style of play.
Their Junior boys team will rely on the experience of Dineson Cañeda, who just came from a stint in the Korea Open last month.
Joining Cañeda in his team are Warren Jan Rama, Neil Patrick Seares, Dominic Sator and Clive Coronel.
The Junior girls team will be composed of Melody Jane Infante, Mayn Coran, Princess Megan Parba, Ellen Joy Villacarlos and Carmela Coran.
Korea Open qualifier Sal Luigi Estrada, however, will sit out the tournament due to financial concerns.
