AS RACE day draws near, more runners have enlisted for the Cebu leg of the Run 4 Ur Future slated this Sunday, at the Sumilon Road of the Cebu Business Park.

Race director Joel Juarez of Coco Running told Cebu Daily News that as of yesterday, 700 runners have already signed up to join the running event organized by the Manila-based Media Vessel Productions in cooperation with the National Reintregation Center for OFWs and the Integrated Seafarers of the Philippines.

The running event, which has three legs, will be featuring 10-kilometer, 5k and 3k distances through the Cebu Business Park roadways.

The first leg was held on July 17 in Davao City. After the Cebu leg, the last race will be in Manila on Aug. 28.

“We are nearing to reach our target of a thousand runners. We are still accepting more runners before the registration end (sic) on Saturday. We hope that the Cebuano runners will help us in this running event which is aiming to spread the awareness about NRCO and ISP’s advocacy in instilling our OFW and seafarers self-empowerment through wise money-saving for their future,” said Juarez.

Cash prizes will be given to the winning runners in each category while all the finishers of the 16k and 10k categories will receive a finisher’s shirt, string bag and finisher’s medal.

Registration fee is P750 for the 16k, P650 for the 10k, P550 for the 5k and P450 for the 3k, inclusive of the race singlet, bib, timing chip and refreshments after the race. One can register at the RUNNR Ayala Center Cebu, all Cris Sports branches here in Cebu, the CCSC office and Infinitea outlets.
