Cebuano bowlers stumble in Worlds

Cebu’s bets GJ Buyco and Xyrra Cabusas faltered in their respective campaigns in the ongoing World Youth Bowling Championships in Nebraska, USA.

Buyco and his partner Louis Miguel Cantorna finished 45th in the men’s doubles A after combining for 2,250 pinfalls.

Buyco downed 1,121 pins while Cantorna knocked down 1,129 in the division that had 62 pairs competing.

The men’s doubles A was dominated by Sweden’s Pontus Andersson and Jesper Svensson, who knocked down a total of 2,815 pinfalls.

USA’s Anthony Simonsen and Wesley Low Jr. finished second (2,726)while Dominican Republic’s Wascar Cavallo and Hector Simo (2,655) rounded off the top three.

Buyco also finished 96th in the men’s singles overall with 1,113 pinfalls while Cabusas finished 55th in the women’s overall singles with 1,079 pinfalls.

Malaysia’s Tun Hakim Tun Hasnul topped the men’s singles with 1,350 pinfalls while the women’s singles was dominated by Sweden’s Filippa Persson, who scored 1,390 pinfalls.
