Judge Ferdinand Rafanan of Branch 55 of the Mandaue City Regional Trial Court sentenced a female pimp to 15 years after she was convicted of charges of human trafficking Thursday morning.
Reynes was also fined P500,000 and another P100,000 in moral damages to each of her 11 victims, five of whom were minors.
Operatives of the Regional Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force (RAHTTF-7) arrested Reynes on February 7, 2014 in an entrapment operation in a restobar located in Barangay Subangdaku, Mandaue City.
She was arrested for bringing 10 females and one male into the area and offering their services to an undercover agent for P8,000 each.
At least five of the 10 females and the lone male that she brought with her were later found to be minors.
The minors were handed over to the Department of Social Welfare and Development Central Visayas office (DSWD-7) for protective custody while Reynes was detained.
Reynes was charged with qualified trafficking. She later entered into a plea bargaining agreement with the government prosecutor which resulted to the lowering of the charge against her to attempted trafficking.
In a press release, the International Justice Mission said two of the minors who were rescued from Reynes custody are now enrolled in college taking up social work courses.
