Batch ’97 improves to 4-0 in SHAABA

BATCH ‘97 kept its immaculate record in Division B of the PLDT SME Nation – Alfredo Gothong 21ST SHAABAA Cup Basketball Tournament with a close 56-52 win over Dynacast 01 last Sunday at the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu campus in Canduman, Mandaue City.

Chad Go led the way for the winning side with 15 points while Melvin Tan and Michael Senerpida had a dozen each.

Batch ‘97 now shares the lead with the idle AutoLAB at 4-0 while Dynacast dropped into a tie with Core Pacific 2000 and Choobi Bay Crab and Shrimp ‘91 at 3-1 (win-loss).

Core Pacific’s third win came at the expense of White Gold Club ‘96 (2-2), 47-37.

Serg Go Bui tallied 20 points in the emphatic victory.

In other games in the same division, Ngohiong ‘94 (1-4) finally broke into the win column after beating Chick@Phil ‘89 (0-5), 60-45. Batch ‘92 (1-3) also got its first win by edging out Batch ‘93, 51-49. Batch ‘95 also creamed GEF ‘98, 51-44. The two teams now tote similar 2-2 records.

In Division C, Prince Warehouse 06 took control of solo second place after they got past Batch 2015, 53-42. Luis Yu tallied 20 to help Prince Warehouse win their third match against two losses. Kitrol ‘03 also inched past Batch 2014, 53-51, behind Jan Jaca’s 22 markers. Both teams are now tied at 2-2.
