AFTER being formally launched last May, the Suzuki Football Club Cebu will make its debut in the standard 11-aside format tournament of the prestigious 18th Aboitiz Football Cup, which starts Sept. 4 at the Cebu City Sports Center.
The football club’s founder Ktec Alazas said this will be their first time joining an 11-aside tournament.
“We decided to compete and make our debut in the Aboitiz Cup so that this way, we can gather more people to join our club and use the manpower for our future programs in teaching kids football for free,” Alazas said.
The team has been competing in various football tournaments in Cebu but only those using seven-aside or nine-aside formats.
Making up the team that will compete in the men’s open are Alazas, Suzuki Football Club President Julius Entise, Kurt and Julius Acre, Marion Rey Cubelo, Adriane Calinawan, Junard Aguilar, Benjamin Sanchez , Elizer and Elmer Pacubas, John Gomora, Erwin Morrok, Shane Sarmiento, Carlito Abadia, Jake Jab Acre, Brad John Nieves, Carlo Sumayang, Richard Labitag, Steven Patalinghug, Harold Daga and Ryan Bordalba.
