By: Norman V. Mendoza September 01,2016 - 08:27 AM

TWO of three people died after being trapped in a fire at SB Cabahug Street in Barangay Ibabao-Estancia, Mandaue City at 5 am Thursday.

Two bodies were found by fire investigators who were waiting for the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) personnel to examine the remains.

Seven two-storey houses owned by a former Barangay Ibabao-Estancia chairman and owner of St. Jude Memorial Homes were destroyed by the fire.

A wake at one chapel had to be transferred to another chapel in front of the fire site. Some of the houses were ancestral homes built in the 50s.

A display center for coffins was also damaged. Damages were pegged at P100,000.
