Police identify suspect who harassed firemen
The Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) has already identified the suspect who allegedly harassed firemen during the fire incident in Barangay Duljo-Fatima last week.
CCPO Director Joel Doria said they already identified the man who was seen firing his gun, but refused to divulge his name pending investigation.
“May identity na tayo. Kailangan pa ng sworn statement ng dalawang witnesses (We already have an identity of the suspect. But we still need the sworn statements of the two witnesses),” Doria said.
Doria said they are still determining if the suspect has license to carry a gun.
“We will file a case, then we will wait for an arrest warrant to be issued against him,” Doria added.
The firing incident was reported by fire volunteers from Barangays Ermita and Kamputhaw to Cebu City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office head Nagiel Bañacia.
The incident earned the ire of Mayor Tomas Osmeña, who ordered the arrest of the suspect.
According to witnesses, the suspect allegedly fired his gun aimlessly after firemen turned a deaf ear on his request to prevent his house from catching fire.
