THE incidence of cholera cases in Barangay Carnaza, Daanbantayan town had been contained for now and no additional cases have been reported so far, Daanbantayan Mayor Vicente Loot said yesterday.
Loot said they are now treating these water sources with chlorine and setting a monthly treatment schedule for it.
He said they also distributed aquatabs to the residents in the area after the cholera outbreak was declared.
At present, Loot said their health office advised the residents to boil their water first before using them until they are able to declare them as completely safe to use.
Earlier this week, the regional Department of Health declared a cholera outbreak in Daanbantayan, after recording 129 cases in the area.
