THE PHILIPPINE Women’s National Football Team, also known as the Philippine Malditas, opened its campaign in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Women’s FIFA Qualifiers with a 4-0 victory over United Arab Emirates (UAE) in Dushanbe, Tajikistan Tuesday evening.
Eva Madarang led the squad with two goals made in the 14th and 46th minute of the match.
The win put the Malditas at the top of the rankings in Group A together with Jordan, who also won its first match against Bahrain, 6-0, last Monday.
Other scorers for the Philippines were Irish Navaja and Sara Isobel Arrieta Castañeda.
The Malditas are playing against Iraq at press time.
