Cebuanos told to prepare for a ‘wet’ Kalag-kalag
Prepare to get soaked in the rain.
Weather officials said that widespread moderate to heavy rains are expected in Cebu during the All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days celebrations as a result of the low pressure area (LPA) that is now within the vicinity of Surigao del Norte.
Leo Aguirre, weather specialist of the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) Mactan, said those those planning outdoor activities are advised to always bring with them their umbrellas for their protection in case it rains.
He said raining is expected to persist in Cebu and the rest of Central Visayas from Tuesday night to Wednesday.
As of 3 p.m. on Monday, Pagasa estimated the LPA to be located around 300 kilometers east of Surigao City, Surigao del Norte. Surigao City is around 400 kilometers away from Cebu City.
Aguirre warned that the widespread raining may cause flooding in some areas in Cebu and may affect the traffic flow near the cemeteries.
“Labaw na g’yud ning November 1, kusog gyud ang uwan. Dili nato makit-an ang adlaw labi na inig hapon tungod sad ag-om (Rains will get worse on November 1. We probably won’t see the sun especially in the afternoon because of the dark clouds),” Aguirre added. /
