TEAM Kalma trounced on PN Alumni, 75-59, to win the championship title of the Monday Squad Basketball Club (MSBC) 5’10’’ and Under Basketball League Season 3 last Sunday at the Casal’s Village Gym in Cebu City.
JR Saga and Rannel Cortes waxed hot for Kalma as they finished with 23 and 21 points, respectively, leading their team to the lopsided win.
Saga and Cortes were already setting the tone for Kalma in the first quarter as they combined for 19 to lead at the end, 23-18.
Kalma’s second unit then added damage to PN Alumni’s early woes as they limited them to only eight points in the second period, 37-26.
PN Alumni tried to raise their team’s spirits in the third canto by attempting to outscore their opponents, 13-15, but as its name suggests, Kalma remained calm and stayed unfazed.
Cortes and Saga then chalked six and 10 markers, respectively, in the final period allowing Kalma to run away with the win and the coveted title.
Alwin Dapdap and JR Bucatan paced PN Alumni with 13 points apiece while Harold Gemida added 11.
