THE second round of elimination of the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (Cesafi) collegiate football tournament will resume this afternoon at the Cebu City Sports Center.
Up first will be the University of Cebu (UC) Webmasters, who are hoping to win their last game in the eliminations against the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) Jaguars.
The pressure will be on the Jaguars as a win will give them a better chance of advancing to the finals with one more game left. For UC, this will already be a non-bearing game.
UC is currently at the bottom fifth with five points on a 1-4-2 win-loss-draw record while USJ-R has eight points equivalent to its 2-2-2 card.
The second game will be a rematch between defending champions University of San Carlos (USC) Warriors and perennial runner-up University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) Panthers.
A win for USC would further bolster their chances of advancing to the finals. If they lose, the Warriors will get another chance to grab a finals ticket on Sunday.
