Prices of basic commodities to remain the same despite fuel price hike
Even if petroleum companies will implement an increase in the price of fuel, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI-7) is not expecting any movement in the price of the basic commodities, especially on Noche Buena products.
Dina Gladys Oro of DTI-7 said there are other factors that need to be considered aside from oil price.
This includes the depreciation of the value of the peso and the price of raw materials especially if it is imported.
She said that even the series of fuel price rollbacks in the past weeks has no effect in the movement of basic commodity prices.
