Auditor scores 50 points to lead Sykes to victory
FORMER Cesafi standout Janjan Auditor had a performance for the ages as he scored an incredible 50 points to lead the Sykes Pioneers past the ePerformax Reds, 110-75, in the Elite Classic division of the Tanduay Athletics E-League for Basketball on Saturday at the City Sports Club-Cebu.
Auditor, who last played for Southwestern University – Phinma in the Cesafi, just had his way against the Reds’ defense and registered the highest individual scoring mark this season.
He capped off his offensive explosion by scoring 22 of the team’s 30 fourth-period points.
Sykes will head to the playoffs as the third seed after finishing the elims with a 12-4 (win-loss) record.
The loss spoiled the massive 36-point, 17-rebound effort of Reds’ big man Robert Gilo. ePerformax will head to the next round as the sixth seed with their 6-10 card.
Taking the second seed was the Teleperformance Vipers, which destroyed the QBE Generals, 93-59.
The Vipers saw six players score in twin digits to buoy the team to a 14-2 card.
Mon Xavier Dico led the way for Teleperformance with 20 points, 14 rebounds, two blocks, two assists and two steals.
The last game of the triple-header saw the Wipro Tigers pull the rug from under the three-time defending champions Converters, 85-78. RC Espinosa sparked the Tigers with 26 points, while Al De Los Santos, Ronald Irwin Mata and Lester Roque Espinosa contributed 17, 15 and 14 markers, respectively.
