CEBU CITY, Philippines — A 24/7 free parking lot for motorcycles is now open in Barangay Lahug in Cebu City.

That is according to a Facebook post of Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña.

The parking lot is located beside the entrance of the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino and is a Cebu Provincial government property.

“All means all,” Osmeña said. 

Employees from any city are welcomed to avail of the free parking lot. 

“If your work is within walking distance, all you need to show is proof of employment, and you can park your motorcycle anytime for free,” Osmeña said in the Facebook post. 

He also clarified that cars would not be allowed in the parking lot because the space was limited and they would need to accommodate as many people as possible.

“The parking is free, but if you want to give something back, we are asking that you join the group of volunteers, who take turns in making sure the lot is secure,” he added.

There are also tables and chairs in the area where everyone can stay and hang out. 

It is a joint project between the Cebu City and Cebu Provincial governments. 

Osmeña thanked Governor Hilario Davide III and the Provincial Board for allowing the use of the provincial property./dbs
