Mangubat eyes regional title in #Kumbati 2 boxing card
CEBU CITY, Philippines — Tomjone “Wardog” Mangubat of the Omega Boxing Gym eyes his first regional belt when he faces Pasay City’s Arnel “Silencer” Baconaje in the main event of the #Kumabti 2 on Friday, April 5, 2019 at the Piazza Rotunda of the Parkmall in Mandaue City.
The Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon native Mangubat, who is undefeated in 11 fights (10W-0L-1D), will be gunning for the World Boxing Council (WBC) Asia Silver Featherweight title.
Baconaje sports a 10-3-0 (win-loss-draw) record.
The weigh-in event for #Kumbati 2 will be on Thursday, April 4, 2019, 11 a.m. at the Manggahan Restuarant in Barangay Lahug.
Mangubat’s stablemates, Ronnie Mark Vicelles and Ponciano Rimandiman, will also be seeing action.
Vicelles of Lebak Sultan Kudarat will go up against Robert “El Rapido” Onggocan of Biñan Laguna in the 10-rounder, 108-lbs supporting bout Visproba Championship.
Vicelles sports a record of nine wins, five by way of knockouts, no loss and one draw while Onggocan has 11 wins, seven by way of knockouts, and four losses.
Leyte’s Rimandiman will face Rowel “Jaguar” Rosia of Mandaluyong Manila for the 8-round 115-lbs supporting bout Visproba Championship.
Rimadiman has nine wins, five by way of knockouts, four losses and one draw while Rosia brings with him 14 wins, seven by way of knockouts, seven losses and one draw. /bmjo
