Rest days on weekdays? No problem!

CEBU CITY, Philippines – Having your days off fall on weekdays may feel like a major bummer especially when the rest of your pals take a road trip or a beach getaway.

The millennial generation, for instance, is very particular about days off because these are the times when they can totally #YOLO.

The weekend – read: Saturday and Sunday – are often viewed as the perfect days for a weekend trip.

But what if your days off fall in between Mondays and Fridays.

Are you totally doomed?

We think not!

Here are some reasons why spending your rest days on weekdays will prove to work to your advantage:

Most offices are open.

No need  to minus one bar off on your leave credits just to work on some government papers and requirements. Pay your bills on a weekday and transform your rest time into a productive day.

Minimizes stress buildup

You do not have to wait for the weekend to breathe from your stressful days at work. Having your days off in between the week will help you release that stress and would allow you to avoid a whole straight week of stress buildup. How does a drink on a Wednesday sound like? Or maybe a massage night on a Tuesday?

School Time

Juggling work and graduate school? Having your days off on a weekday gives you time to catch up on school work and attending your class without having to worry about work deadlines. This is your time to wear that student hat. Own it!

Less people around

The perfect time to travel and go to the mall fall on weekdays! The mall is not crowded as there a few people because most of them are… working! If you choose to travel, passing through these terminals are almost always a breeze. In your destinations, there are less people lounging on the beach or walking the mountain trails. All these means more time for yourself; more time to enjoy the peace and quiet.

Rest days are gems of a workers’ life; the time to breathe and to take a break so why not make the most out of it?

After all, it’s not about the days but the moments. / celr
