Growing up, Ellen Adarna was like any ordinary teenager. She would sneak out of their house at night to meet with her friends and party.
Ellen said there was also a time that she became ‘rebellious.’
The Cebuana socialite and celebrity mom made these revelations in her recent Instagram story to show netizens that her teenage years wasn’t just about “butterflies and ponies.”
“Ni ikyas ko para mo night out, to party-party unya nag over the bakod ko (dae) through the window,” Ellen said in her IG story.
Ellen said that she also experienced running away from home when she was just 13-years-old.
But she eventually came back home when she no longer had money to spend. When she did, her dad, Alan Modesto, made sure to punish her for being ‘pasaway.’
For three months, she had to commute. She was also made to sleep at the maid’s quarters and help in doing their laundry on weekends.
Ellen said that her dad was a disciplinarian and he would always want her to experience the ‘hard life.’
“Ang ako ma remember jud is gipa luhod ko og monggos and gi pa jeep ko— angay ra sad to kay hambugera kaayo ko sauna and then that humbled me” the actress confessed.
There was also a time when her dad decided to cut off her allowance.
At first, Ellen said, she never understood why her had to do what he did. But as the days passed, she eventually understood him. She also began to develop close relations with their nannies as she started to help in their chores.
“Sa akong pagka rebellious dae naa ray good thing. Wala ra ko nahimo og spoiled brat nga nag atang rag kwarta.”
