Dilvo had been trapped inside the pawnshop for several hours, police confirmed. When he entered the establishment, he triggered the pawnshop’s security alarm and the establishment automatically went into lockdown.
Law enforcers had to conduct negotiations, which lasted for an hour, after Dilvo reportedly tried to take his own life with his gun.
Fortunately, negotiations went smoothly and Dilvo agreed to be escorted outside the establishment around 7:10 a.m.
Police also confiscated a .38 caliber revolver from the thief, who is now under the custody of the Labangon Police Station.
