CEBU’S VAUNTED architects and engineers will get to strut their basketball skills today as the Architects + Engineers Basketball Association 1st Davies Cup kicks off over at the University of San Carlos gym.

With the city’s community of architects and engineers steadily growing, the league organizers led by Paolo Alberto and Josephril Partosa thought it was best to create an avenue to gather them and promote unity and camaraderie. The Davies

Cup was launched in a press conference held Friday evening at the Vienna Kaffeehaus along Gorordo Avenue.

The initial staging of this tournament starts today with the opening ceremonies set for 5:30 p.m. at the said venue. Six teams are set to duke it out in a double round-robin elimination round. The top four will advance to the semifinals.

The six squads are composed of mechanical engineers, architects, civil engineers and master plumbers. These are Acreex, Elastogel, Polyfloor, Aqua Gloss-IT, Fusion and Stay Clean. The teams are encouraged to be at the venue as the schedule of games will be announced today.
