Mövenpick Hotel Mactan Island Cebu welcomes seasoned hotelier, Casey Faylona, as its new director of sales and marketing.

The five-star Mediterranean-inspired beachfront property is a first with Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts for Faylona, whose impressive career spans 16 years in the hospitality industry under different hotel brands in the Philippines and abroad.

His first entry into the industry became his training ground in the sales and revenue area of the hotel business. He played an integral role in handling Manila Peninsula’s leisure and corporate markets, forging revenue from both top producing companies and new accounts. From there, he moved up as assistant director for sales of Mandarin Oriental Manila, where he was able to contribute 20% growth and shares for its leisure market, through viable initiatives with travel partners. He also worked for Dusit Thani hotels, as director for sales in the Manila property two years and then with the same hotel brand in the Maldives.

Faylona’s last assignment was with Solaire Resort and Casino. During this time, he took a hand in brand cultivation and put the team’s thrust into achieving targets through strategic market positioning and competitive rate structuring.

Commenting on Faylona’s appointment, Harold Rainfroy, general manager said, “We are happy to have Casey Faylona on board. Based on his extensive knowledge and experience in hospitality, we are confident he will be able to contribute in the hotel’s continued success with tactical action plans on destination marketing and new trends and techniques in over-all hotel sales.”
