Davide accused of underpricing sale of province-owned lot

A San Fernando resident asked the Ombudsman Visayas to investigate Cebu Gov. Hilario Davide III for selling at a cheap price a province  owned lot measuring 1,464 square meters in barangay Kalunasan.

Complainant Judith Suico said Davide sold the lot to Opra residents for only P10 per square meters which is much lower than its appraised value of P3, 273 per square meters.

Suico said the governor’s act was a violation of Republic Act 3019 or the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act.

Davide said the lot was sold during the administration of former governor Gwen Garcia yet. It was only during his administration that the deed of absolute sale was issued.
