Defending champs in trouble as Thunder take 3-1 lead
The Oklahoma City Thunder cruised to a commanding 3-1 lead in the Western Conference finals after scoring a 118-94 rout over the defending NBA champions Golden State Warriors in Game 4 on Wednesday (Philippine time).
The Thunder used a huge 42-27 second quarter run to pull away then thwarted mild rallies by the Warriors in the second half to secure the victory and come to within a win away from the NBA Finals.
Russel Westbrook was on fire all-game long as he chalked up a triple-double of 36 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists while the team’s other superstar Kevin Durant added 26 points and 11 rebounds.
Reigning MVP Steph Curry continued his struggle offensively as he settled for just 19 points in 39 minutes of action. Klay Thompson led the Warriors with 26.
The Thunder, which tries to close it out in Golden State in Game 5, had a sizzling offensive show as four others scored in double figures headed by the 17 each of Andre Robertson and Serge Ibaka. Steven Adams added 11 and Dione Waiters chipped in 10.
