Tabal celebrates with Cebu supporters; big announcement expected to be made

Cebuana Mary Joy Tabal and her supporters gathered at the Casino Español Monday night to celebrate her recent achievement.
Tabal made the marathon qualifying time for the Olympic Summer Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil after clocking 2:43.31 in the Scotia Bank Ottawa Marathon in Canada last May 29. The Olympic qualifying time for the women’s marathon in the Olympics is 2:45.
Joining the victory party was her team Motor Ace Philippines headed by its president Jonel Borromeo.
Borromeo said that they were set to make a big announcement during the event.
No announcement has yet been made regarding her situation with the Philippine Amateur Track and Field Association PATAFA, who hasn’t recognized yet Tabal’s feat in Canada, which means she still isn’t officially a representative of the country to the Olympics.
