THE University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) Panthers and the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) Jaguars will be doing battle in the A3A Cup Unity Games Inter-Collegiate Basketball Tournament, starting today at the Rotary Gym in Tagum City, Davao del Norte.

The two Cesafi teams will be going up against four of the best collegiate basketball teams on the island. These are Agro-Industrial Foundation College of the Philippines, St. John Paul College of Davao and Jose Maria College, all of which are from Davao City.

Also joining is Xavier University from Cagayan de Oro City.

According to Panthers head coach Albert Alocillo, the team is using this competition to sharpen their skills in time for the Asia Pacific University Games on December 6-11 here in Cebu.

The tournament in Tagum is made possible through the support of House Speaker Pantaleon “Bebot” Alvarez, Davao del Norte Governor Anthony “AGR” del Rosario, Vice Governor Allan Dujali and Tagum City Mayor Allan L. Rellon. It is being done in conjunction with the celebration of Tagum City’s Parochial Fiesta.
