A 35-year-old woman in Mandaue City sent her husband to jail after accusing him of raping her and beating her up.

The woman said she was forced to finally seek help from the police because she could no longer bear the abuse.

The man was arrested and detained last Sunday at the Subangdaku Police Station.

The couple has 10 children.

The woman said her husband, a jeepney barker would beat her up when she refused to have sex with him.
After mauling her, the woman said her spouse would force himself on her.

The woman, a street vendor, said she refused to have sex on several occasions because she was already tired from a day’s work and doing household chores.

Police said the man will be charged with violation of Republic Act 8353 or the Anti-Rape Law.
