Cebu City police seized P6 million worth of shabu from a 21-year-old resident of barangay Suba, Cebu City yesterday afternoon.

Senior Supt. Noli Romana, Cebu City police chief, supervised the drug bust conducted by the City Intelligence Branch (CIB) and the Sawang Calero police that resulted in the arrest of Joseph Erson Opena.

The drug bust occurred a day after Cebu City police arrested two suspected drug pushers in barangay Lorega, Cebu City.

Arrested were Leny dela Cruz and Raffy Abaya and taken from their possession were over P1 million worth of shabu.

In yesterday’s operation, Romana said the police seized five big packs of shabu worth P6 million from the second floor of Opena’s two-story house.

Supt. Romeo Santander, CIB chief, said their target was Opena’s father Ernie who wasn’t around at the time. Opena said he only keeps track of the proceeds.

Last Tuesday evening, the CIB arrested dela Cruz and Abaya after two weeks of surveillance.

Taken from their possession were three big packs and six medium packs of shabu.
