SIX vehicles were destroyed in a fire caused by the collision between a school bus and an Isuzu Elf truck that was transporting butane canisters in barangay San Isidro, Talisay City at 6:22 a.m. Wednesday.

Chief Insp. Randy Mendaros, Talisay City fire marshal, said the fire was put out at 6:50 a.m.

Mendaros said the truck with plate number ANA 3278 was transporting the butane canisters when it hit a school bus owned by the Asian College of Technology (ACT).

The bus had no passengers at the time and the collision caused the truck to fall on its side near a car display center before it blew up damaging five cars on display.

One of the five cars was totally destroyed while four were partially damaged by the fire.

The bus driver was brought to Talisay City District Hospital while Edmar Luad, 21, of Naga City who was driving the truck hurriedly left the scene.

Luad was later caught by police and was turned over to Talisay City Police for questioning.
