AN armed person died after he was shot by responding cops from the Talisay City Police Station around 10 p.m. last Wednesday in Barangay Lawaan 3.
The victim was identified as Eleazar Matadero, a resident of the barangay.
Talisay City Police Station Chief Aileen Recla said a caller informed them about an armed person roaming around the area.
Responding policemen sighted the suspect playing video karera. When they confronted Matadero, the latter allegedly drew a gun prompting the police to shoot him first. Matadero was hit in the body. He was brought to Talisay City District Hospital where he was declared dead.
Recla said Matadero was in their list of persons involved in illegal drug trade. Recovered from Matadero were a .45 pistol, with seven bullets, drug paraphernalia and a cell phone.
