10 Cebu city hall workers positive for drugs

September 02,2016 - 05:01 PM

TEN of 127 newly hired casual employees of Cebu City Hall tested positive for drug use during a random drug testing conducted by the Cebu City Office of Substance Abuse Prevention (Cosap) last August 25 and 31.

Lawyer Marie Velle Abella, Cebu City Human Resource head, said the ten employees were immediately terminated.

The HR department, however, refused to give the names of those who tested positive for drugs.

COSAP head Dr. Alice Utlang said the random drug testing is part of cleansing the Cebu City Hall of drug users. / USJ-R Intern Dafne N. Wenceslao
