THE DEFENDING champion University of the Visayas (UV) kept its record clean in the SBP class of the 2016 Milo-backed SBP-Passerelle Tournament as it thwarted Don Bosco, 36-27, last weekend at the Ateneo de Cebu basketball courts along Mango Avenue.

Franc Gabunada had eight to lead UV while Daniel Padilla scored seven to push their win-loss record to 3-0 while keeping Don Bosco winless in two games.

Ateneo de Cebu-A kept in step with UV as it also made it two wins in a row with a 44-10 shellacking of the debuting Southwestern University-Phinma.

Ateneo de Cebu-B however, fell to the University of San Carlos, 40-36, and lost for the second time in as many games. USC evened up its slate to 1-1.

In the Passerelle division, the titleholders Ateneo de Cebu crushed SWU, 61-29, for its second win in a row.
