Mandaue City Vice Mayor Carlo Fortuna is asking Mandaue residents to be cautious of people engaging in any unauthorized transactions using his name.

Fortuna said on his Facebook page that any such incident should immediately be reported to the police.

He posted on FB that on Tuesday night, a man who was pretending to be him called a Chowking outlet located inside Grandmall in Mandaue City and ordered close to P2, 000 worth of meals which he asked to be delivered at the nearby Mandaue City Hall.

The “impostor,” Fortuna said, also convinced the delivery crew to give him P1, 000 worth of call card load.

“As to why the crew did it baffles me. The objective was obviously the load not the food (that was ordered),” said Fortuna’s FB post.

Fortuna added that when the order was delivered to city hall, the suspect who made the order, could not be found. Calls made to the suspect’s cellphone number have also been left unanswered.
“Police are investigating the incident. I also told the (branch) manager to conduct a parallel investigation.”

“I therefore appeal to.the public to be wary of any persons representing to be me or uses my name. Please report to the police immediately,” Fortuna added on his FB post.
