MILITANT youth groups and some students held protests and gallery exhibits to remind the youth on the atrocities committed during the Marcos regime ahead of tomorrow’s martial law anniversary.

“This year marks the 44th year of the declaration of Martial Law yet a lot of people have been compromised into silence,” said Justine Balane, former UP Cebu
Student Council chairperson.

Balane’s group will also join a citywide protest march from P. Del Rosario street to Metro Colon to appeal to President Rodrigo Duterte to change his mind about giving the late president Ferdinand Marcos a hero’s burial.

An art caravan entitled Hinikawan, a Cebuano term for “deprived”, will run from September 19 to September 22, at the University of San Carlos (USC), Cebu Normal University (CNU), Southwestern University (SWU) and UP Cebu to mark the event.
