The charred remains of two children who died after being trapped inside their home in Sitio Hillside, Barangay Talamban in Cebu City at past noon Wednesday were recovered by firefighters this afternoon.

Terence John Garcia, 4, and Bryle Cedric Llorag, two months, were found at the second floor of their two-story house which was hit by a fire broke before noon.

The boys were cared for by an uncle while their grandmother fetched an older sibling at a nearby elementary school.

The boy’s uncle said he was sleeping at the ground floor when he heard their neighbors scream.

When he woke up the fire already engulfed the upper floor of their house preventing him from saving the two boys.

Kimberly Llorag, the boy’s mother, said she immediately went home when she heard of the fire.

She works as a helper in nearby Barangay Banilad.
