A 30-year-old businesswoman died after she was shot by unidentified gunmen riding a motorcycle in Carlock St., Barangay Duljo-Fatima at 2:45 p.m. on Friday.

Annalou Llaguno was shot on the head as she was riding on a scooter driven by her boyfriend John Joseph Romarate on their way to Romarate’s apartment in Barangay Pasil,” said PO3 Cristobal Geronimo of the Cebu City Police Office Homicide Section.

Cristobal said that according to initial investigation, the victim and her boyfriend had just left the victim’s apartment in Duljo Fatima on a scooter and they headed to Pasil when three men on an Honda XRM motorcycle drove beside them.

Cristobal said that one of the backriders pulled out a gun and shot Llaguno, who slumped on the back of Romarate, causing Romarate to lose control of the scooter and crash.

He said that the gunmen also disembarked and shot Llaguno again before fleeing the area on their motorcycle.

Romarate, who was unharmed, rushed the victim to the hospital but she did not reach the hospital alive.

Cristobal said that Llaguno was the niece of the late Crisostomo “Tata Negro” Llaguno, whom police then suspected of having links to illegal drugs.

Crisostomo, ran for Cebu City councilor in 2010 when he was shot dead by an unidentified gunman.

Cristobal said they were still investigating Annalou’s killing.
