A SENIOR citizen was found dead inside his shanty near the Inayawan dumpsite at past 6 pm last Saturday.
The 68-year-old identified as Angelo Badayos Cabrera died of an unspecified lingering illness, according to his caretaker Bernalie Flores.
Flores told the police that he sent his son to give food to Cabrera who stayed in a shanty near them. His son told him that Cabrera laid sprawled on the floor motionless and he then sought help from the Cebu City Emergency and Medical Services (CCEMS) who said Cabrera’s remains were already in a state of rigor mortis.
Cabrera’s remains were taken to St. Francis Funeral Homes in N. Bacalso Avenue, Cebu City. An autopsy will be conducted to identify the real cause of the old man’s death.
