Village official nabbed on drug and firearms raps
A barangay official was arrested in a raid at his home Sitio Pitogo, Barangay Singsing in Balamban town, west of Cebu at 8 am Thursday.
Francis Eric Dacua faces charges of illegal drugs and firearms possession after being arrested by Balamban police who served a search warrant on him.
Dacua is a chairman of the barangay’s peace and order committee of Barangay Hingatmonan.
Recovered from his possession were one medium pack and 10 sachets of suspected shabu weighing 10 grams with a street value of P118, 000, several drug paraphernalia and a loaded revolver.
Senior Insp. Ramil Morpos said Dacua reportedly sold shabu to truck drivers and motorcycle-for-hire drivers.
