Broussard on wildlife & timber corruption: Risk analysis should be done as well as development of risk mitigating strategies @cebudailynews
The NLEX Road Warriors continued their mastery over local squads as they crushed the University of the Visayas (UV) Green Lancers, 102-50, in the first game of yesterday’s Recoletos Invitational Cup at the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) Coliseum.
Kevin Alas led the team with 20 points while Garvo Lanete, Glenn Khobuntin and Jansen Rios added 16 each for the Road Warriors, who defeated the Cebu Landmasters, 99-72, late Wednesday night.
Jerome Napao was the lone double-digit scorer for the reigning Cesafi men’s champions Green Lancers with 12 points.
Although the game was a one-sided affair, it didn’t seem to show early on as players from both teams engaged in a physical battle that led to double technical fouls on Green Lancer Alfred Codilla and Road Warrior Carlo Dan Lastimosa in the 2:26 mark of the opening period.
On a separate play also in the first period, Lastimosa sustained a small cut on his mouth after getting fouled by a Green Lancer.
In the second game, the Meralco Bolts earned their second victory by nipping the Cebu Landmasters/USJ-R, 92-61.
The competition ends today with a double-header at the same venue.
The Landmasters battle the Green Lancers at 5 p.m., while PBA teams Meralco and NLEX collide at 7p.m.
